We're excited to introduce a brand-new course specifically designed for older elementary newcomers. These students benefit from the rigorous and age-appropriate opportunities found in the Joy School English curriculum.
Accelerate speaking confidence
Students in the older newcomer course learn content at a quicker pace than students in lower grades. Carefully curated games, books, videos, and music sustain engagement by appealing to an older elementary audience. And a higher concentration of speaking opportunities will have your students talking even more.
Reading English faster
Students learn or review basic literacy skills sufficiently but briefly and then quickly move on to higher-level literacy skills like sight words, decoding, digraphs, spelling, and reading sentences.
Social-emotional learning
A values-rich curriculum incorporates social and emotional learning that builds strong character.

Expected release date: Summer 2024
10 new value songs have been added to the curriculum, supporting social and emotional learning and demonstrating universal character traits such as honesty, positivity, and respect.
New short animated videos featuring our Joy School English bugs play immediately after the Unit Test. These fun videos act as an entertaining reward for finishing each unit before moving on to retention activities.
Students can now log in to Joy School English in a single step using a personalized QR code, greatly simplifying the login process. QR codes can be printed at the school, class, or student level. Watch this video to see how it's done.
