WIDA predictive score
We’ve added a powerful new feature to help you track student growth toward WIDA ACCESS benchmarks. Using each student’s SPARC Speaking Proficiency Score, Joy School English can now predict an equivalent WIDA ACCESS overall scale score.
Additionally, WIDA growth is projected over time based on student usage. This projection is grounded in recent research showing that regular use of Joy School English leads to measurable gains on WIDA ACCESS assessments!

Basic skills assessments
Teachers can now assign quick, targeted basic skills assessments to individual students or the entire class at any time. These assessments help pinpoint the skills students still need to strengthen and can be reassigned as needed to monitor progress until mastery is achieved.
Available assessments include:
- Letter Names
- Letter Sounds
- Number Identification
- Shapes
- Colors
Week streak feature
Consistency pays off! At the end of each daily session, students now see an animated Week Streak screen celebrating how many weeks in a row they’ve used the program. This fun motivator encourages students to keep their streak going week after week.
Freeplay mode
After finishing their daily session, students can now enter Freeplay Mode, where they’ll find a curated selection of favorite activities to explore at their own pace. Freeplay gives students extra opportunities to practice speaking, reinforce vocabulary, and build confidence, all while having fun.
